Headline count: our 10 core guides, 8,718 words in total, cite 12 distinct sources 42 times, drawn from 10 websites. All of the counts on this page are calculated from the guide files in our code, so they change when the guides do.
What we publish and what we do not
NaturallyCurlyKinky.com publishes written guides to caring for curly, coily and textured hair. We do not run a product database, test products in a lab, or score individual products. Our guides explain a topic, say what the evidence supports, and link to retailers where a reader may want to compare options. The retailer links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission from them. Our affiliate disclosure and editorial policy set out the rules.
How a guide is made
- We pick one question a reader would ask, such as how often to wash or whether protein is needed.
- We check each guide against official or primary sources where they exist, such as regulators, health bodies and journals.
- We link the sources at the foot of the guide, and put dates on pages so that readers can see when each was last reviewed.
- We keep health statements to what the source says, attribute them, and send readers with scalp or hair-loss problems to a GP or dermatologist.
